Meet Elyse

Licensed Psychotherapist, Practice Owner

My path to maternal mental health has been shaped by both professional experience and my own journey as a mother.

I began in Pittsburgh, where I ran family groups for parents navigating serious behavioral challenges and working one-on-one with middle school students struggling within their social and family units. That work gave me a deep respect for the resilience of parents and the complexity of family dynamics.

Not long after, my family relocated to Texas where I was able to immerse myself in the world of mothers with young children. That year gave me an intimate perspective on the emotions, identity shifts, and logistical challenges of day-to-day modern motherhood as well as the power and absolute necessity of friendship and support during those early days and beyond—insights that continue to shape the way I support moms today.

When I moved to New Orleans next, I joined the Manning Family Children’s Hospital as a parent educator, where I ran a popular new parent support group. I also taught newborn classes at Touro Hospital and appeared on WWL morning news with regular parenting segments aimed at helping parents feel prepared and supported in those tender early weeks of life with a baby and throughout the many tricky transitions of children growing up. During this time, I founded my practice with the goal of devoting my career exclusively to maternal mental health.

Today, I am based just outside of Washington, DC, and I am licensed in both Louisiana and Maryland (LPC, LCPC) with over 10 years of specialized experience working with mothers and pregnant and postpartum women (PMH-C). Along the way, I’ve helped hundreds of women move through anxiety, depression, OCD, burnout, and identity and relationship struggles to rediscover calm, confidence, and joy in motherhood. I’ve also had the privilege of contributing as a guest on podcasts, the local news, and as an expert for Rescripted, a leading reproductive and maternal health platform.

As a mom of three, I know the highs and lows of parenthood, the importance of building community, and the incredible impact that finding the right professional can make.

While my sessions are grounded in science and evidence-based treatment, many of my clients tell me the sessions feel like a conversation with an old friend—someone who understands, listens without judgment, and knows just what to say to help them find, and maintain, relief. That balance of expertise and genuine connection is at the heart of everything I do.

I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
